HOTEL Reservations

  • Do I need a credit card to make a hotel room reservation?

Yes. A credit card deposit is required at the time of reservation. Your credit card will not be charged until the day of your arrival.
  • What is the reservation cancellation policy? Is there an early departure fee?

For our Winter Season (Dec 15 - April 15) a full deposit of all room nights plus tax will be taken on the credit card provided 14 days prior to arrival.  Within 14 days of arrival the reservation cannot be canceled or modified without a penalty of the full deposit.

For Spring through Fall Season (Apr 16 to Dec 14) a 1 night deposit plus tax will be taken on the credit card provided.  Within 72 hours of arrival the reservation cannot be canceled or modified without a penalty of the full deposit.
  • What are the taxes for a hotel stay?

All hotel room bookings are subject to taxes including the Taos Lodger's Tax of 5% and the New Mexico Gross Receipts Tax of 8.1875% per room. (Tax rate subject to change.)
  • How do I make reservations for a group (family reunion, club, etc.)?

Group reservations can be made through the reservations department by contacting 1-855-846-8267.
  • How do I modify or cancel my reservation?

Modify or cancel reservations by calling El Mote Sagrado at 1-855-846-8267. 
  • I forgot/lost my confirmation number. How do I find it?

Please contact the reservations department at 1-855-846-8267.

Is there a minimum age requirement to make a reservation?

Yes. Guests must be at least 21 years old to make a reservation. Exceptions are made for active military with proper military ID if under the age of 21.

How do I make a special request regarding my stay?

Special requests can be made by contacting El Monte Sagrado directly at 575-758-3502. Online, special request can be made by clicking the "Special Requests" link within the confirmation email.
  • I have questions about my bill. Who do I contact?

Hotel Information

  • Does the hotel have free WiFi internet access? How do I connect?

High-speed Internet access is included in the Resort Fee.
  • Is there a business center?

Yes, we offer a business center.
  • How do I print out a document from my computer at the hotel?

You may print at our business center or please ask the front desk for assistance.
  • What does the Resort Fee include?

The $25 Resort Fee, which went into effect for bookings made on September 9, 2016 and after, includes valet parking and luggage service, 24-hour shuttle service (for locations within 3 miles of the hotel), high-speed internet, a refrigerator and safe in each guest room, yoga every Saturday morning, 2 bottles of water per guest room per day along with a coffee/hot tea station in each guest room, access to our heated salt water pool and hot tub, access to our fitness center, access to our business center and printer, newspapers and coffee in our lobby and HD TV and NFL Sunday Ticket in each guest room (during the NFL season).
  • Can you help me check in for a departing flight the day before?

Yes. The front desk will be happy to assist with airline flight check-in and assist with printing boarding passes.
  • What amenities do your hotels have?

El Monte Sagrado offers many amenities and services. For more details, please see our Amenities Page.
  • Does this hotel accept pets? Are there restrictions or fees?

Yes. El Monte Sagrado welcomes pets for a $50 fee (plus tax) at the hotel. Please contact reservations at 1-855-846-8267 with any questions.
  • How far do you have to walk to take your pet out?

El Monte Sagrado offers grassy areas surrounding the property for pets.
  • I want flowers, chocolates, champagne, wine or gifts sent to the room. How do I do this?

Please contact the El Monte Sagrado's front desk directly at 575-758-3502 for any special requests .
  • Does the hotel have a place to exercise? What equipment is available and what are the hours?

We do offer a 24-hour fitness center. Taos is also the perfect location to participate in outdoor activities including world-class skiing, snowboarding, white-water rafting, hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking, horseback riding and more.
  • Does the hotel have a pool?

Yes, our Aqua Center features a pool and hot tub.
  • Do you offer connecting rooms?

Yes. Please contact the reservations department at 575-758-3502 for availability.
  • Does the hotel offer roll-away beds? How do I reserve them?

Yes. Roll-away beds and an inflatable airbed are available for an additional charge. Please reserve with the front desk.
  • Do you have coffee makers, refrigerators or microwaves available in the rooms?

Coffee makers and beverage centers are available in each guest room.
  • How do I find out about events going on at the hotel?

Visit our Facebook Page or our Events Page to see what’s happening during your visit.
  • How many people can stay in a room?

El Monte Sagrado allows up to two guests to stay in single bedrooms and up to four guests to stay in the double bed room.
  • Do you allow smoking on the property or in the rooms?

No. El Monte Sagrado is a non-smoking property.
  • Do you offer ADA wheelchair accessible rooms?

Yes. El Monte Sagrado offers an ADA rooms. Please make your request when booking your stay.
  • How can I leave feedback after my stay?

  • What are directions to the hotel and the cross streets?

  • Do you have onsite parking? Is there parking fees?

Yes. El Monte Sagrado a offers parking and fees are included in our Resort Fee.
  • How far is the hotel from the airport?

Albuquerque International Sunport Airport is the nearest major airport, which is 135 miles south of Taos. The Taos Regional Airport is 8 miles northwest of the town. The Santa Fe Municipal Airport is 65 miles south of Taos.
  • What public transportation options are available in the city?

Taos Express provides schedules for bus services.

City Information

  • What is the weather like?

Taos is located in the northern region of the state, and only 50 miles south of the Colorado border. Taos has a semi-arid climate with extreme diurnal variations of temperature and low rainfall. Even when summer days get extremely hot, nights can be pleasantly cool.
  • What should I wear when visiting?

Taos is a casual town and casual attire is appropriate. In general dress for comfort for the activity you are planning and bring a sweater or jacket for the evenings, as it can get cooler in at night and during the winter months.
  • What should I pack?

Our low humidity and high altitude means you'll need to stay hydrated when visiting and we recommend you bring along sunscreen, lotion and lip balm. Don't forget to drink lots of water to stay hydrated throughout your visit.

  • Do you have a wedding chapel or place for wedding ceremony onsite?

Yes. While there is no wedding chapel there are numerous event spaces to host a ceremony onsite both indoors and outdoors.

Dining/Nightlife

  • Does the hotel have a restaurant and/or bar? When is it open?

El Monte Sagrado has two onsite restaurants, De La Tierra and the Anaconda Bar. Discover more restaurants and bars on the Taos Plaza. Many are our Local Treasure Partners.
  • Is breakfast included with my room rate?

  • Are there other restaurants and bars near the hotel?

Yes. Within walking distance are numerous restaurants and bars in the Taos area.
